It’s no secret that James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” has become a viral sensation, with guests ranging from Adele to Paul McCartney. And while many music superstars have hopped into the car for a singalong, there’s one elusive guest who has never appeared on the show: Beyoncé.
According to a showrunner for “Carpool Karaoke,” the reason for Beyoncé’s absence is actually quite simple: she prefers to keep her private life, and especially her voice, out of the public eye. The showrunner shared that they had been “close a couple of times” to getting Beyoncé on the show, but ultimately it never came to fruition due to her desire for privacy.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Beyoncé has been elusive when it comes to public appearances. Despite being one of the biggest stars in the world, she rarely grants interviews and keeps a tight lid on her personal life.
While it’s certainly disappointing for fans who would love to see Beyoncé belt out some of her greatest hits in the car, her desire for privacy is understandable. And who knows, maybe one day she’ll surprise everyone and hop into the “Carpool Karaoke” car after all.
