Savannah Chrisley, reality television personality and daughter of Todd Chrisley, recently made headlines with her revelation that she “knew” Colton Underwood was gay when they first met in 2017. This revelation came to light after Underwood made a public announcement earlier this year about his sexuality.
The two reality stars went on a date four years ago, back when Underwood was still trying to find love on “The Bachelor” and Chrisley was starring in “Chrisley Knows Best”. While the date seemed innocent enough at the time, Chrisley now recalls feeling that there was something different about Underwood.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Chrisley said, “I knew [Underwood was gay] before he did obviously…Just because he was very quiet and reserved, and just always very focused on himself.” She went on to say that despite her initial impression of Underwood, she still thought he was a great guy, and was happy to learn that he has finally found happiness in his true self.
Underwood’s announcement earlier this year caused a stir in the media, as he had previously been known as the first virgin Bachelor, and had pursued relationships with a number of women on the show. However, he has since been praised for his bravery and for using his platform to promote acceptance and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community.
As for Chrisley, she has continued to make a name for herself in the world of reality television, most recently starring in her own spinoff series “Growing Up Chrisley” alongside her brother Chase Chrisley. It is clear from her comments that she has nothing but love and support for her friend and fellow reality star Colton Underwood, and that she is proud of him for finally living his truth.
