Lionel Messi is an Argentine former professional football player and coach. He was born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina, to a working-class family. Messi’s father, Jorge Messi, was a factory steel worker, and his mother, Celia, worked as a cleaner. Messi had always shown an interest in football from a young age and began playing with local youth teams.
