In response to her son’s ‘Dynamite’ sexual scenes, Julia Louis-Dreyfus reacts

In July of 2020, Julia Louis-Dreyfus was interviewed on The Graham Norton Show, where she discussed everything from her 2020 Emmy nomination to her son’s recent onscreen sex scenes. The star of Seinfeld and Veep recently stood by her son, actor Charlie Hall, as he filmed the role of Howard, a teenage lad on a mission for sexual experience in the coming-of-age film, “Dynamite”.

When asked about her son’s steamy sex scenes, Louis-Dreyfus was quick to quip, “I was very proud of him.” The comic and actress made sure to drive home that point, adding with a laugh “in more ways than one.”

Louis-Dreyfus did admit that while she knew her son would be filming some provocative scenes, she was not necessarily prepared for all that she would witness. “I certainly wasn’t ready for the full monty!”

Despite any discomfort one might have in supporting a child’s onscreen nudity and sex scenes, Louis-Dreyfus was all-in when it came to her 18-year-old son’s project. “I told him, ‘Listen, the part of the young protagonist is an excellent part and you should take it. When do you start?’”

Louis-Dreyfus has proved time and time again that she’s one of the best comedic actors of her generation, and her supportive attitude towards her son’s professional ventures is nothing short of endearing. Her ability to poke fun at her son’s exploits is evidence of her witty and lighthearted nature, which may quell mothers who are concerned about the type of media their own children may choose to be involved in.

We’re sure that Charlie has taken a few lessons in acting from his mother—not to mention some guidelines for handling professional and personal success in the public eye. Here’s to hoping that Julia Louis-Dreyfus continues to awe us with her performances, and Charlie Hall continues to make his mark on Hollywood.
